ACPI mode required??

    ACPI mode required??


    my system locks up when I try and boot from the DVD I made. is AHPI mode required to run it? im assuming so, I had this issue once awhile back (on a different computer tho)

    if so I dont see the option in my bios, so GREAT

    Will your system boot from any DVD?

    You might give some information about your system.

    ya it boots from anything else fine. ive downloaded twice and burned twice I dont see anything that went wrong. but the DVD doesnt work on another computer either so im at a loss

    specs:

    asus m2n-e mobo
    amd 4850e
    3gb ddr2
    samsung dvd/cd
    running xp sp3 32bit

    You probably aren't making the DVD bootable. Check one of the tutorials and follow those instructions.

    How are you burning the DVD, or what software are you using to make the .iso and burn it?

    followed the instructions here:

    Make bootable iso from student d/l

    im using the first program just called "isoburner"

    Are you using 'Burn ISO' or 'copy' to the DVD?

    What speed are you burning the DVD at?
    Should be 2x or max 4x.
