That's only based on knowing that users have set data drives to GPT to avoid MBR size and partition limitations, long before the UEFI crapware was concocted. Since every UEFI BIOS is different, who knows if new restrictions exist for some on mixing MBR/GPT. So far I've only seen CSM needed for booting an MBR OS, or both. Anyone else?

What is the exact error you're getting when you try to create a partition there? Partition or Volume - Create New
Seatools finished 'long generic test' w/no errors.

There is no error in DM. It simply will not allow me to do anything except properties and help.

Gparted didn't have an error either it just failed. Didn't give any useful info.

Next step is elevated CMD and your advice.
Later though...people coming over.

When you install a SSD Windows disables Disc Defragmenting & when that's disabled, Disk Management will not allow any changes to be made to any discs, such as repartitioning, deleting etc..

You can re-enable Disk Defragmenter by going to Control Panel, Administrative Tools, then Computer Management. See attached screen shot.
Disc Defragmenter can then be enabled again by using the drop down menu in Start Up type.

I have an SSD, I can do those things with Windows built in utilities. Windows disable Auto Defrag only for the SSD, not all disks in the system.

I dig. This 64gb Sandisk was $55-60. Still sort of unnecessary for a server like this but I just 'discovered' SSDs and was freaking out at how fast they are. So I figured it could be the OS and the big spinners can store everything. Still....not necessary at all. Total overkill
Dont mind my ignorance; but what are spinners? Do you mean regular hard drives?

Those rims are ridiculous! And the urban dictionary is the best place for all the other definitions of spinners!

Yes, a spinner is a mechanical hard drive with spinning disks inside. As opposed to SSD which has no moving parts.

Old school hard drives! Somebody in this thread, or on sevenforums, started calling them spinners so I thought it was a common term! Makes sense to me.
