    Windows 7 startup problem

Help!!! I've just installed windows 7 ultimate on my pc, all the setup went really nicely until the initial boot. All that happens is that the screen goes blank before windows can start up. All thats on the screen is a blinking cursor in the top left hand corner. I am really desperate!! can anyone help PLEASE?

Check your bios and make sure your hard drive is listed as the first or second device in the boot menu. You may have your CD/DVD drive listed first.

Remove any tv or 2nd monitor. Use only 1 monitor connected. Try to boot up now.

Do you hear any sounds ever, like Windows' startup sound? Does Windows Key+P do anything for you?

Don't think so, no. Anything is possible, but again, I don't think so.

I started with only 1 monitor connected, using onboard graphics card too. I tried windows key + p but nothing seemed to happen. I dont hear any sounds except for the beep coming from the case when it starts. I also tried downloading graphics drivers for my card and installing them from disc, copied from another computer, but it wont even boot from disc Q_Q
