    Windows 7 NG Instalation Courrupted

    Hello,

Last saturday as usual power got cut off because 7 people live here and all of them use electric heaters because the landlord is too greedy to turn on heating lol.

Now this has happened alot and never resulted in any problems however this time the power was off and like 15 times within a space of 2 mins.

After which surprise surprise restart on windows logo straight away.

So Ok i went tried to go into Safe Mode, restart right at Clasess.pnp ( i tried renaming to .old but it dont help just went onto the next in line and restarted)

Ok so now i have the windows repair i go in and try and do startup repair, i do it like 10 times then it just says it cant fix the fault.

So i start browsing websites on solutions, i do the sfc /scannow /offbootdir= etc etc from which the sfc claims it found faults but some were not fixed, i tried searching for repair in the CBS log file but to no avail no matches to repair.

Next i went for CHKDSK on the disk 5 times with the same result "windows has checked the file system and found no problems".

so now im bloody pissed, i have alot of important stuff and programs installed on that drive that i need, i cant just overwrite it, i cant upgrade windows since i cant get inside the windows 7.

I went to my friend today and fixed myself a bootable USB instalation of Windows 7, i installed windows 7 on another drive leaving me previous instalation intact, but now i need to fix my older primary instalation, i tried running scannow in the new instalation but i keep getting "windows resource protection not perform the requested operation."

Im desperately looking for a way to restore my windows 7 instalation i have programs there with other subprograms installed in a way that i cant get it back in this new instalation, i would greatly any tips, instructions on how to do this.

    Thank you.

OK, since no one else has asked, what is Windows 7 NG ?

Windows 7 New Generation Edition ?

Sounds like a hacked Windows 7 and we can`t help you with that.

It was some mod for a better performance, the actual installation is windows 7 x64 ultimate edition and legit ofc.

So you activated the modded version with a legal Product Key?

If so work through the steps for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start.

Modded versions are minefields of corruption. But the steps may help. If not reinstall your licensed clean version. Clean Install Windows 7

I already have done a clean install on another drive just to have a working system, but what i really need is my old system i have Music creation software installed in diff paths, if i was to import everythingit just would not work without the right paths and all, not to mention i have alot of other important stuff thats only usefull to me from the old install, so my aim here is only to get the old one working or at least to get into windows so i can upgrade it, i will go to the ends of earth to get it back :P

One other piece of info when i disabled auto restart on critical error i this BSOD error code: *** stop:0x0000007b (0xfffff880009a97e8,0xffffffffc0000034, 0x000000000000000, 0x000000000000000)

    1. The drive where old windows was installed is a 120GB SSD and it works just fine i have access to all files, the problem lies in system files.

    2. I cant get into safe mode it crashes right around classes.pnp I have already renamde that and it just skips to next one in line and restarts)

    3. I have no viruses this was a clean system for a very long time i dont go to dodgy websites or any such things, i dint even have a anti virus installed, but on couple occasions i installed one and scanned to find 0 viruses and or malwares.

    4. I can get into the startup recovery, and as i said before it says it cant fix it, using the CMD sfc /scannow /offbootdir=g:\ /offwindir=g:\windows returns that it found corrupted files but was unable to fix some of them, i looked through the CBS log for any mention of repair but found nothing, i also made a mistake later of messing around with the log itself i deleted everything inside because i wanted to look at it from a fresh scan but now nothing gets written to on sfc scan i tried copying the old one but to no avail.

    5. I ran it 30 times now with the same result it cant fix whatever the fault is

    6. about to do this will update soon

Now main problem resides in the fact that the CBS log file does not show any repairs, i dont even think it writes anything to the CBS file, i looked on both where the windows is installed on and on the X drive ( i know thats not the right one i just had to check) how can i know which files are corrupted when the CBS log does not reflect any.

Is there a way or a software that does this outside the startup repair, but instead in the windows enviroment? or is the a way to redirect where the log goes to ? i have tried deleting the log but then no CBS file is created when the sfc scan is finished, what exactly am i doing wrong here ?

Im also now mirroring the C drive just incase, 619MB/s lol 20 mins for 100gb lol nice :P

Everything that can be done is in those steps.

Did you try System Restore from the disk System Recovery Options a few times?

    I would run SFC repeatedly.

Since you have another OS, install EasyBCD Download Registration - NeoSmart Technologies to the new Win7 to add the old one to a Dual Boot menu to see if it will boot it that way. Then we'd know it is a boot problem.

I unfortunatly did make a system recovery point at all in system recovery options due to my own idiocy lol.

I have dual boot enabled without BCD i see both when i boot and can choose both, only the old one crashes as it described in my old post

Not having plenty of space apportioned for System restore points will probably cost you a reinstall. System Protection - Change Disk Space Usage

What is the exact error when you boot the old install?

there is no error the windows logo shows for 2 seconds and pc restarts, if u go to safe mode it lists all drivers last one being classespnp after which it pauses for 3 seconds then goes black likes its trying to load then restarts.

the only error i get is when i disable restart on critical error then i get to see BSOD and the error that was posted above

    *** stop:0x0000007b (0xfffff880009a97e8,0xffffffffc0000034, 0x000000000000000, 0x000000000000000)

but i would like to understand something above all, is the SFC scan not meant to create CBS log file in the windows\logs\CBS directory ? because it doesnt i tried running it a thousand times it clearly states it has found corrupt files then why does it not create the CBS file and show which files are corrupted.
