is there a way to manage boot manager, make os unaware

    heya

i always like o keep two OSes, each in one of my two hardisk. I keep them separated, and access them by pressing F11 at Bios boot. This way, whenever i want i can wipe out any OS and access the other one without problems.

but now i dont have an optical drive anymore, so i tried installing Seven from Xp, by mounting the ISO, but it installed the boot manager in XP partition so now Seven depends on that partition.

Is there a way that i can, after installed, make Seven only use his own hard drive/partition to boot?

    YES.

Make sure 7 partition is marked Active.

Open an elevated cmd prompt and type: (Replace c with the 7 drive letter as seen when in 7 )

    bcdboot c:\windows /s c:

    Then press enter.

put 7 dvd in the drive and type:

    yourdvdriveletter:\boot\bootsect.exe /nt60 c: /mbr

    then press enter

    yourdvdriveletter:\boot\bootsect.exe /nt52 yourXPdriveletter_as_seen_by_7:

    then press enter

If you tell me the drive letters as seen when in 7 - or better yet, post a screenshot of Disk Management window - I can give the exact commands - then just copy and paste .
