So dvd drive is functioning and booting fine now? Does it see the internal drive?

What exact error do you get when you (try to) boot from harddrive?

So why are you needing to boot from the optical drive? Does the rest of the computer work as normal? I thought the issue was only with the optical drive itself? Are you trying to load a version of Windows and run repair to get this issue resolved?
As mentioned is the optical drive showing up in your bios as an available drive? If not then the issue is with the connections and or the drives. Windows default drivers for optical drives will be all you need at first.

Hi the problem is that since I installed the dvd drive my computer won't allow me to boot to my hard drive. Even without the dvd drive connected it won't boot to the hard drive. This has only started happening since I put the dvd drive on my pc

Do Startup Repair 3 times with reboots in between. Does it find the win7 installation?
