You can delete windows.old anytime if you sure that there is nothing you need out of there. Personally I would hold on to it for a few weeks until I was sure I hadn't lost something.

Probably a good idea, so perhaps I will just move it. Windows.old adds 32gb to my Win7 backup and bootable recovery disk, which adds a lot of time. I plan to make several backups as I add more software, and I'd prefer to get that 32gb out of the b/u.
