Clean install of Windows 7 on brand new SSD results in error!

"Windows cannot install required items. The file may be corrupt or missing. Make sure all files required for installation are available, and restart the installations. Error code: 0x80070017"

I desperately need help with this. I just bought a brand new SSD drive to clean install Windows 7. Even bought a brand new SATA cable to go with it. This error happens during the "unpacking" phase.

Things I think I have ruled out: It is not the SSD. I am getting this error on my HDD as well. It is not the DVD ISO I am using as it is legitimate, downloaded through my university. I have also tried Windows 8 but instead of getting an error it just stalls at the Windows 8 logo screen directly after booting from DVD. I have also tried removing my RAM sticks and only using one during this process. I have used each one and each time still result in the same error. I do not think it is memory failing issue.

I have not ruled out my DVD drive failing however. I have a USB stick I downloaded Windows on. I can't get my computer to boot into it though. I get the error "DSK MGR MISSING" error. I am certain I have downloaded it onto the USB stick correctly. It is an encrypted stick requiring inputting of password before files can be read in Windows. Would this have an affect on its ability to run as a boot device as it is impossible to input the password without already being in Windows?

    Hi, Welcome to forums.

Error can come due to faulty media. You can try to burn the image on USB and use a USB drive without password.

Here is a link you can use. Universal USB Installer ? Easy as 1 2 3 | USB Pen Drive Linux

So I was correct in thinking I need a USB drive that isn't encrypted? Here is the exact one I have now: Kingston DataTraveler Locker+ G2 8GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Model DTLPG2/8GB - Newegg.com

May pick another one up tonight at Radioshack. Would this one be okay to use? SanDisk 8GB Cruzer USB Flash Drive : USB Flash Drives | RadioShack.com

Just wipe the drive first of any crapware with Diskpart Clean Command , unless you yourself encrypted it which needs undoing first.

Then write the latest official ISO for your licensed version to stick using tool provided earlier, or what always works for me if others fail is UltraISO Software To Create Bootable USB Flash Drive.

The latest official ISO, another tool for burning or writing, and the steps to get and keep a perfect install are the same as here for Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

Looks like your ISO is corrupted. Use the procedure in the last link that Greg has posted. That ought to work.
