Update ver from Home Premium to Ultimate ?

    Hello all

Much apologies as I would pretty much guess this is a widely discussed and answered topic, but just am posting too as could not be current info.

Anyway, I have been shopping around for a new LT and just really want to stick with Windows 7 64 Ultimate as I just know it so well.

As I would think it would seem, seems what comes pre-loaded is all because that is what it has on it, which too seems the majority of these are Win7 64 Home Premium version.

So just what would it take to upgrade one of these to Ultimate?

Note that I have an extra version of Ultimate and is SP1 also, so can I use that to simply perform the upgrade?

Basically I know I could wipe the drive and install it new, an maybe that's even the better way to go, but as that can really take sometime to do all that work, would be nice if I can just pop in the disk and let it do its work.

    Thanks for any help.

Clean install, wiping the disk and installing Ultimate is of course one very good alternative. The easiest way however is the Windows Anytime Upgrade using your existing, valid Ultimate product key as told in this tutorial:

Do you need the 2 or so extra features in Ultimate ? other then that, Home Premium and Ultimate are identical.
