Install error 0x80070570 on Acer Nav50 after DBAN

Hey guys, self taught and "usually" self fix but this one has me stumped. Wife has an Acer Aspire One Nav50 netbook running an Intel Atom Processor 1660.0 MHz, with W7 starter. She has had it a few years & like the rest it had started to slow down. I have a genuine ISO of W7 Home Premium mounted on flash drive in boot configuration that I have used on an older laptop that worked without a hitch so I know it is a good copy. Ran DBAN(beginning to think that was my mistake) and went to install 7. Everything goes good until it gets to % count up and 20 is as far as it ever gets. Let me list what I have done so far:

>ran check disk on the hard drive-no errors
>made a bootable flash drive w/memorycheck86 and ran it for 6 passes(around 4 hours) no errors
>decided to try new memory anyway, upgraded to 2 gig stick(only 1 slot, 2gig max)-no luck
>tried the "stop install before the error and go back to install w/o reboot" trick-no luck
>deleted the drives at advanced at beginning of install-no luck
>tried to format the install drive-no luck
>ran "disk part" from command prompt as described on this forum-no luck
>reset the bios to factory-no luck
>reset the SATA mode in bios from AHCI to IDE-no luck

Think I should go buy a lottery ticket tonight?

Been on this for 12 hours, is there anything that I have missed?
7 Forums has always been my "go to" for fixes, that's why I joined to post this!

Thanks

Is it possible you only ran the flash stick installer from Windows before and haven't yet relied on it to boot to install? It sure sounds like a bad installer.

Just in case try another ISO for your licensed version written to stick using the ISO download and MS tool from Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. The steps there will also assure you get and keep a perfect install, even for retail.

Set the SATA controller to AHCI, set HDD to boot first, trigger flash stick to boot using Acer F12 or F10 key at boot. Clean Install Windows 7

If that fails try DVD install using same tool to burn DVD.

Greg,

I had made the stick with the Microsoft tool a few years ago,and it had worked, so that is why I didn't think it was suspect. But, being at the end of my patience I took your advice and downloaded a fresh ISO from MS and a new dl of the tool & made another stick.......SUCCESS!!! Loaded right up. Thanks again for your help, Seven Forums Rocks!
