The OEM key on the bottom of the laptop is the key for the OS that came with the computer so I assume its a Vista key. You will need the key that came with your copy of Windows7.

Do you have the DVD provided from Dell or just from Micorsoft directly. I mean that, is you windows 7 burned by Dell company?

No, you need to buy an Upgrade and either run it from Vista to do an in-place upgrade (which reinstalls programs, files and settings), a Custom clean install (which puts all of your files in windows.old folder for later redistribution). Or you can boot from the Upgrade disk and do an even cleaner install following this tutorial: Doing a Clean Install with a Upgrade Windows 7 Version

Ok just so i understand this, if i buy a upgrade version of windows 7, and do a custom install, i can use the key on the bottom of my dell laptop to activate windows 7 and it will be legit?.

The key on the bottom is your license for Vista, period.

The Windows 7 Upgrade package will have an insert with your new key for the Upgrade.

Forget the Vista key unless you have to go back to Vista.
