He would just have 100mb free space before the o/s files. Unless you start moving all that data.Can he also delete the 100mb partition before running it? Reclaim the space into 7 later?
Never tried running a repair install after doing that - not sure I would suggest it as haven't done it myself.

Strange - perhaps ntldr is damaged.
