BOOTMGR is missing after setting new partition active

Ok, i screwed up bad. I didnt know what i was doing i guess. Now, i cant get into the computer, and i have no recovery cd, or windows cd they got lost. What can i do? Also, my next door neighbor dvd burner does not work. Is there anything i can do? I thought i could go into command promt by pressing shift f10 but it dont work. Some how i believe if i can set the windows 7 C drive active, , it will boot up again, bu tthe screen is at a stand still all i have the option to do is keep rebooting. Please help with a response quick because he has to leave with his computer.

I cant do this, because my friends laptop, on the create repair disk screen, says that the blank dvd is either to fast or to slow, the speed i gues

If your system has the 100MB "Reserved System" partition installed, you have some repair options accessable at boot:



If not, then I am sorry to say it is time to find a way to get some utility CD's or a new Install DVD?

Yes i do have it i remember for sure, but when i boot up, all i can do is hit f2 for setup, hit f12 for boot sequence, ore restart. Thats it. All it says is bootmgr is missing . presee control alt delete to restasrt. That screen your showing is not available. What do i do?

Best thing is to d/l one of the Paragon freebies - on your friends machine.

Backup & Recovery 10 Free

B&R10 Free Registration


Get the free key they email you . Install it. At top left of main Paragon window, click Tools >Recovery media builder. Select the option for flash drive and it puts the recovery program on flash for you.


Plug that flash drive in your machine - go into bios and set usb as first boot device. Restart.

Select Normal mode ( Safe Mode if you have a problem with Normal Mode).

Rt click the 100mb partition and mark as Active.

( If you don't have 100 mb partition , mark 7 partition Active instead.)

APPLY.

Restart. Fingers crossed.

Sorry , that is the problem with that option. It relies on accessing bcd. It is subject to many of the same startup issues as windows itself. It is not a substitute for having bootable recovery media.

Ok I'm on the iphone I found a copy of win 7 but it is the pre copy.
I run it butrepsir pc don't work . Also when the install now screen comes up, I hit shift f10 for the command window. Then t says x:/sources . I type diskpart but it won't let me type anything after that at all it's lie the keys don't work

As your DVD is working, try startup repair.
