I have Toshiba laptop and one day it just stopped working i kept getting the bootmgr is missing error. I was watching youtube tutorials about diskpart i know the basics now. But somehow i removed a disc?

When i type in list disc this is all i get now

Theres nothing there. When i go onto windows install to try reinstall it doesnt detect any drives it says the following "no drives were found. Click Load Driver to provide a mass storage driver for installation

All i want is to reinstall windows 7 to my laptop again need help please guys my laptop is for my college work.

    Could be a dead drive.

How are you getting to diskpart if the laptop stopped working? From a Windows install disk? Or?

Does this laptop just have a single hard drive?

I'd get to Toshiba web site and look for hard drive tools you can download and either burn to disk or put on USB stick to examine the drive and see if it is defective.

You don't have a backup of your data?

Fill out System Specs, at least the full model number.

Also, check the hard drive with the manufacturer's diagnostic tools. 7 Free Hard Drive Testing Programs Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp. Bootable Hard Drive Diagnostics

Boot into BIOS setup to see if the HD is in fact detected, under Storage or SATA drives or the BIOS Boot order priority menu.

If not see if you can reinstall it to make better contact so it shows up. You'll be able to google how to remove or replace your hard drive for your Toshiba model or product line to see a video or tutorial telling you how to remove the HD. Most often it is under one of the doors on the bottom, or slides in from the side.

If you can't get it to be detected then you'll need to replace it, again googling the Toshiba model for HD replacement and also googling the part number off the HD to see those choices to order. We can help you do this.

If you get it detected then run the HD Diagnostic extended CD scan provided, or if there isn't one easily available burn Partition Wizard to CD with Windows Image burner, boot it to run Partition Wizard Partition surface test . If it passes this test and a Disk Check
from the Win7 installation media or System Repair Disk Command Line, then it should be good to proceed with Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start or a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
