Running the OS on two seperate HDs

Just got off a chat with MS tech. Asked if:

I want to run two iterations of Retail Home Premium version of Windows 7 on the same physical machine, using two distinct hard drives that I can swap out from bays. Is this allowed under the license agreement?

The answer was yes I can, but I still need two product keys

I wonder is linux is the smarter play?

We can help answer that better if you tell us why you need two separate installations of the same OS? Better to create two User accounts on the same OS.

Or, use a virtual machine with something like vmware player. You could install ubuntu or windows 7 in a virtual machine. And use the trial period (30 days) to install stuff. Just reinstall it again or use the extended trial period.
