As I explained above, often if there is solely a Vista driver for the device it will only be listed under Vista drivers for that model, so when one Upgrades to Win7 they don't normally look there and miss it. I've learned to also look for missing drivers not listed under Win7 xxbit under Vista drivers, which always work for Win7.
In this case the full functionality of the device is apparently built into the driver, or it delivered a little more software than just a driver. You may see a listing for it in msconfig>Startup or >Services (after Hiding all MS Services). This may need to stay checked there to function as you want it - you can test un-checking it to see.
As it says in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 you will get better Win7 performance if you disable all but your AV in those two msconfig locations, so that a bunch of programs are not starting on Win7's back. Most programs can wait until you need them to be started.
There are other optimizations, tools and methods that will assure you get and keep a perfect install in the blue link tutorial. Ask back if you have any questions.
If Windows Media Center doesn't provide all you need for playing and creating disks, ask back here for others to try. You can choose Windows Media Center as your default player and burner in Control Panel>Default Programs.
