Hi,
I took advantage of the student offer for Win7 upgrade!
I downloaded the Win7 installer and when I try to run it I get this error.
"We are unable to create or save new files in the folder in which this application was downloaded. Please check the folder properties to make sure that you have security permission on the folder to write files and that the folder is not read-only"
It is saved to the desktop!
Any suggestions?
Please update your system specs. The link is in my signature. If you have OSX, I assume you either have 7 on a separate partition or it's loading in Bootcamp?

Thank you for the link. I already have Vista installed on my Mac, been using it for quite sometime. I am just looking at updating vista to Win 7.
I'm getting this error in vista.
I had someone suggest burning the downloaded folder onto a dvd and try installing from there.
I thought that's what you were doing already. All of the Bootcamp threads I saw involved running from the DVD. Good luck.
