    Use Student download to "upgrade" new laptop?


    Can an .iso of the Win 7 Student download be used to "upgrade" a new laptop with the same version of Win 7, thus getting rid of unwanted programs? In other words, do a clean install using the .iso on DVD, then using the registration key from the new Win 7 laptop?

    Assuming it will work, how much problem is there likely to be with drivers?

    If I'mreading it right you have win7 on your laptop and you want to format the drive and put win7 back on? That'll work. As far as drivers are concerned, if you already have 7 installed you would know what drivers did or didn't get installed already

Hello, I purchased the $30 Student download upgrade for Windows 7 Professional. I want to do a fresh install and therefore need to boot off a disc. Where do i download the iso so I can burn my disc of Windows 7 Professional? I currently have the full 32-bit version of Windows Vista Home...
When ordering via the student offer (UK) you are given the option to purchase the "disk kit" for an extra £9. This might be a dumb question but does anyone know for sure if this "disk kit" is basically just the Windows 7 disk as you would buy it in a shop? I suppose what I am trying to ascertain...
Is the time to "Upgrade from vista to 7 supposed to be wayyy longer then it would to do jsut a clean install? (For example, hanging at 18% for a while while installing during upgrade) (posting this since i cant get any replies to a previous topic)
