    Reinstallation of windows 7

I have an HP computer and I perform a fresh (re)installation of Windows 7 at least annually. Is it quicker to go to the MS website and download Win 7 SP1, then activate auto update or allow the software to go thru the installation (initially 133 updates and more later, including SP1.
I understand that SP1 included all updates before it. (Duplicating some effort)

    Hello Funkyecat,

Yes, it would indeed be better and easier to use the latest Windows 7 Home Premium x64 SP1 U (media refresh) X17-58997.iso version that already includes a lot of updates that you wouldn't have to install later through Windows Updates. :)

No need to reinstall every year. Just do a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
as suggested, then capture a Win7 backup image which can be used to reimage the HD in 20 minutes from the WIn7 DVD.
