Install Windows 7 with no CD drive

I have a mini laptop (acer) that has no CD drive. I have the 7 disk. The laptop has Win7 startup installed and I would like to be able to upgrade to the next step. Is there a way to do this? I have this laptop on my home network.

Are you wanting to upgrade from Starter to Home Premium? If so you'll need a Home Premium key but can install it using Windows Anytime Upgrade - How to - Windows 7 Forums.
This unlocks the few extra features in the higher version just by inserting the key.

However I'd be sure you actually need those features because if you don't then it's just wasting money. Instead if you'd like a better performing install you can do a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 which shows how to get and keep a perfect install and provides everything needed in the blue link including the ISO file, how to unlock it to access Starter version during install, tool to write to bootable flash stick, and everything else that works best for WIn7.

To Gregrocker: Many thanks, your info. helped me decide not to try the upgrade since I don't really
    need those "few" extras.

How is performance on the laptop? It might improve if you Clean Up Factory Bloatware.

However nothing compares to doing a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 .

If you have any issues here are the basic Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7.
