Yes. There is no non-destructive conversion UEFI<>MBR

You'd need the latest EasyBCD with UEFI support but there's no guarantee it will work. You'll have to try it to see. UEFI upends most of the workarounds which have come out of these forums since beta.

Follow the steps. With luck you'll have your fifth-rate install

Did it give you another Boot Option? What is the new choice?

Open Easy again and post a screenshot of the listings.

There's a way to restore the Recovery partition enough to at least burn the Recov disks: Need help with Asus N53JQ recovery - Windows 7 Help Forums

Since I don't see the Asus model in your Specs, you'd need to go to Asus Support Downloads webpage for your exact model to check for a download of the AI Recovery software to see if they make it available for reinstall.

It is found via a Google search from several places with this one at the top: ASUS AI Recovery 1.0.24 - Download. But this is no guarantee its the correct one for your model.

I would try the AI Recocvery download found on Google to see if it will install, and then if it will work as suggested in the workaround to make Recov disks.

I notice SIW2 in the thread so he may have some scancodes to offer although surely these are different with UEFI. Here are some he proposed awhile back to make a Winre.wim bootable via hotkey which may be adaptable: Link WinRE to F8 Advanced Boot Tools menu

If I converted my disk to mbr then used the "active method"? Would I loose any data?
