If you have the Upgrade Windows 7 version, you may have some difficulties if you format C partition first. It still can be done. Which was why Doc asked that question.
If you have the Full version, then no problem. Just direct the install to the C partition.
The tutorial listed will help you to make sure you don't bypass that important step, it's happened even to some experienced people.
Let us know how everything goes.
To be safe, backup your HD before starting the installation.
