Best option to clean Win7, remove user files but keep programs

My son bought a new computer and is giving me his 2 year old Win7 HP desktop to replace my still truckin 8 year old XP. His computer has Nortons and no virus issues - runs fine, a little slow maybe. He already copied off his stuff but I would to start using it with ALL his user files and torrent downloads gone, clean registry etc. I know can start by deleting his user file, uninstalling some programs, doing a disk clean etc. But is there a one stop idea to make it look like day one or do I need to do multiple functions? If multiple, what would be on the list? I would prefer NOT to do a clean install as I really don't want to reinstall all the programs, win7 updates, drivers, the printer etc. Thanks!

You can try the steps to Clean Up Factory Bloatware but if it's never had a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 then the HP factory preinstall is the worst install of Win7 one can have.

If it's dysfunctional I'd run a Repair Install after doing the clean up tutorial steps to turn off all the unneeded crapware, check if its' damaged system files, clean and defrag.
