Help me to install Windows 7 onto 128GB Flash Drive!!!!!!!!

I have HP Netbook with only 15GB SSHD. That's not enough for clean Windows 7 installation. Hopefully this model ha internal usb slot, where I inserted 128GB pen drive. Now I want install Windows 7 to the 128GB drive. But installation process give me option to install Windows only on Drive0 witch is 15GB SSHD. It does not see 128GB "removable drive"!!!! Please Help!!

    Welcome.

Unfortunately, Windows cannot be installed to a USB flash drive.

Ok, but why Windows installation process, after I deleted partition, on bottom left corner gives me ophion to browse for device driver? I assumed it should bring me to some USB driver which recognize flash as HDD NTFS. May be I need format stick drive as NTFS?

It was Windows XP, which no longer is supporting by Microsoft.

Who cares if it`s no longer supported, it still works fine

If Microsoft stopped supporting Windows 7 tomorrow, that doesn`t mean you have to go out an buy the newest version.

If you want to install windows 7 on it, you`re gonna have to buy a bigger sshd.

Or install or run Linux Mint off the flash drive.

    Try this as an experiment:

Use the DISKPART formatting instructions in https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials...ml#post2714895 to format an Active partition out of the 15gb onboard HD.

Now do the same to format a partition on the flash stick, but make sure its NOT marked Active.

Now when you boot the installer do you see the flash stick? If so try installing to it which may allow the boot files to be placed on the 15gb but install the OS on the flash stick. If this work, move the paging file to the 15gb HD to utilize its faster speed and space.

There is a way to make this work so if you want to persist we will get it installed.
