I am confused. Was this on your home computer that has 2x120G? You said you haven't installed Win7 there yet

Yes, that is the purpose of Windows.old. It basically contains a copy of your previous settings and files, you can move them and then delete it. Here is how.

That may be true but it is also the most common error on Windows 7 installs. If you search google for 0x80070570 half the first page is either Windows 7 or vista install problems with this error. And it's related to accessing the disk not anything external.

    hi guys
i have downloaded windows 10 on my laptop without any problems and very quickly. i have tried 4 times to install 10 on my desktop, but the installation stopped firstly at 72% and now it appears to be stuck at 87%...i have removed every peripheral usb and removed all tune up software...both pcs were running widows 8.1...

.i usually save all important data to a usb storage, and all my storage devices have been removed from my pc, and i thought if i removed all devices which may cause install problems, that would do the trick, but no joy friends..i will give it another hour tyhen i will revert back to windows 8.1
hope the above may help others
    cheers jim

Check your HDD ,test it for errors with HD Tune.
