    Welcome to SevenForums!

The storage controller is how the system communicates with your IDE devices.

Go into Control Panel>Sound>Sounds and make sure the box is checked.

You still have the controller, whether you use it or not. So relax! Nothing bad will happen!

Try running the Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor, see if it tells you the same thing.
Let us know what it says, if there're any other issues.
It will only take 5 minutes to download and run.

On the taskbar, you will see a little arrow just to the left of your last taskbar item. Click this, and click Customize. That will answer your questions.

    Try these Seven Forums tutorials.

Taskbar - Pin or Unpin Program Links

Recycle Bin - Pin to Taskbar

Click the 'Hidden Icon' arrow, click 'Customize', click Action Center behavior and select hide.
