I have the New OS burn into a DVD disk now. And I have all my drivers backed in a flash drive. I dint get the point no. 8 in Clean install of OS. So I need to install the new OS from the disk now by booting from it and once it's done I need to activate it using the product key of my licenced version I originally had, and then installing the drivers and updating using windows update right? I'm I good to go with this ? (I have no important files on my system now. I need it to be like a brand new one)

The steps in the tutorial are clear about how drivers are handled. You only need your network driver in backup in case it isn't provided during install, so you can install it to get online.

Then enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3)

Check for Windows Updates, install all IMportant and Optional Updates

After each requested restart, go back to Check for Updates until no more are offered.

When no more Updates are offered, check Device Manager for any missing drivers to import from the PC model's Support Downloads webpage.

What wasn't clear about Step 8?

Trying to Reinstall Win 7 HP 64 bit Upgrade

Hi,
I have a PC with Win 7 HP 64 bit installed. I want to re-install Windows via the "upgrade" method as I want to keep all settings and programs etc.
I have a Win 7 HP 64 bit OEM dvd and product key. I have re-started Win 7 after removing/unplugging other SSD's with Win 8 and Win 10. I put the Win 7 factory dvd into the tray and open the files on the dvd. I have clicked on "setup" and the install starts. The first item shown is "copying temp files. Then Setup is starting. Then I get a window that says " Windows experienced an unexpected error. To install restart the install." I have tried to install a few times and get the same message. Avast and Malwarebytes are uninstalled or disabled.
I have read the tutorials etc. I must be missing something or their is a setting in the current Win 7 installation that is preventing the re-install/upgrade.
Any suggestions??
Thanks in advance

Start a new thread and copy your post into it. This thread has nothing to do with a Repair Install.

But you could follow the steps in my postabove to get a perfect Clean Reinstall unless you really want the factory install which is the worst install one can have.

Thanks. Sorry I posted on this thread. I did, however solve the problem. I had a USB flash drive plugged in that I didn't notice earlier. Upon removing the USB drive and re-booting I was able to run the "upgrade" re-install.
