    Reinstalling Win 7 without losing data


    so i got a notebook from dell and i have only 1 hard drive which is the C drive and there are stored all of my programs,photos etc. but i stumble a problem when i open my notebook from off state it has a cyan colored screen (not BSOD) and only then it loads the desktop so i got a recommendation to re install the win 7 with a portable media, but how do i save my personal files and re install the win? backup or any other way?

    Yeah, best is to backup all your personal files to an external device - e.g. with Copy/Paste. The programs you will have to reinstall.

    Make a list of all the Apps you have listed in the Uninstall a Program link, via the Control Panel.

    Discs are your best friend! Find your discs that came with things like your Printer, or software such as games. Most other things can be re-downloaded via a website.

    You can use the Windows Files and Setting Transfer tool, just run it, and save to a USB Hard Drive.
