If you have Home Premium installed and get the Professional version, and the Professional key, you should be able to load in the Professional version and activate it with that key. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Gateway, Toshiba Laptop, and Home Brew OS Windows 7 x64 HP, Windows 7 HP, Windows 7 Ult CPU Intel I3, Cerelon, Pentium 4 @ 3Ghz Motherboard Intel, Intel, Asus Memory 8G, 3G, 3G Graphics Card On-board Intel, On-board nVidia, nVIDIA card Sound Card on-board, on-board, SoundBlaster Monitor(s) Displays Hannspree HF237, Toshiba, SyncMaster 931B Screen Resolution default (all) Keyboard standard wired (all) Mouse standard wired (all) PSU 300w, unk, 650w Case black, black, grey Cooling air (all) Hard Drives 1T internal, 320G internal, 160G internal, 1T networked Internet Speed 6M down, 768K up Other Info Home LAN through Linksys hub to 4 port and wireless switch/router. I tried the Professional DVD on (not yet activated) Home Premium Win 7 laptop but it fails. It says I need to do anytime upgrade.
I just anytime upgraded to Professional using DigitalRiver product key. It took less than 10 minutes. No need to reinstall all the programs. | My System Specs | | |

You can do the anytime upgrade which saves everything and just updates it to Windows 7 Professional...I do not know the price (my guess is $130) but to check just click your start menu and search anytime upgrade find the program and open then just Go online to choose your Windows 7 edition button and it will tell how much it will cost..
