BIOS error with windows 7 installation error 0x80070057

Ok . I have an HP dv6646us and there is NO OS INSTALED. Oh don't get me wrong I know how to fix that error but the problem is, is that whenever Iget to the formatting process of windows 7 installation it literally freezes and tiles itself with blue lines or something. NO THR RAM AND HDD IS NOT CORRUPTED/BROKEN I have ran multiple tests. The error from formatting is x80070057 and I have tried EVERY SINGLE DISKPART AND BOOTSEC COMMANDS ON THE INTERNET. I have also tried startup repair etc. I booted gparted and it said "Your PNP bios is causing a fatal error" I can't even install a Linux Debian without the formatting process freezing. I also tried booting from CD but it doesn't boot from CD. THE BIOS HAS NO OPTION TO CHANGE AHCII or something like that. I conclude that the bios needs to be updated but I cant do it without a windows Os. There have been over 7 versions of the HP dv 66466us and the change log even states it fixes these problems. The bios comes in a self extracting exe. There is no .bin file. I don't know of its possible to flash the bios with usb without a .bin or something If you have any suggestions please do post. My final plan is to find a hard drive with windows on it, replace the bios. If you guys have any info I coul d use please post

I would say you are on the short road to finding out your mobo is probably dying/dead.

Try working through the steps for Overcoming Windows 7 Installation Failures - Windows 7 Help Forums whcih overcomes almost all installation issues unless you do in fact have a failing mobo. The BIOS reset to defaults might suffice to get it installed to where you can update the BIOS.

Also wiping the HD of all boot code and then formatting an active partition gives every possible advantage to the HDD if it has in fact tested good with the maker's Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure extended CD scan.
