Win 7 installation running very slow

    Hello,

My friends Lenovo B4500 laptop crashed and Im trying to fix it.

First time I have installed win 7 on this pc it was done in a hour now i havent even started instalation and it took me 2 hours to get to the screen where you can choose on which disk you would like to instal win on.

even commands in cmd are taking minutes to execute

I thought that there is something wrong with the hdd so Ive tried chkdsk on a formated C: where I want my win to be installed but it keeps telling me that it is locked or readonly

so I have tried diskpart attrib disk and vol but it says that its readonly: no

    so Im confused now

    Can anyone help me?
    Is the hdd broken?
what could be the problem and how to fix it?

Test the HDD with the maker's HD Diagnostic then run a full Disk Check from the disk System Recovery Options Command Line to confirm the HDD.

Then once HDD is confirmed work through these steps for Overcoming Windows 7 Installation Failures - Windows 7 Help Forums.

If HDD is bad replace it and skip to doing the Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
