windows installation problem in laptop

I have a dell alienware M14x laptop with i7 processor. Few months ago, while installing some game from steam, my laptop got suddenly shut down,i think due to some virus problem. Then after few days, i formatted my laptop with windows 7 ultimate edition and was trying to create local disk drive by using disk part utility of windows. After doing that, i don't know whether it was sucessfull or not,the laptop crashed. when i tried to restart the machine, it give me an error message "BOOTMGR is missing". After few days, i tried to again install windows 7,OS gets installed, but the next day OS crashes.I event tried installing ubuntu 14.04, still OS gets installed, but the next day OS again crashes. can this be a hardware issue or just a disk partition problem....... Pls help.....

I would try doing a complete and thorough format again; and then try and reinstall windows and see what happens. If the same error comes up; post back and we can take it from there.

yes matts6887, we tried to format the disk and installed a fresh windows on the laptop, windows also gets installed. But after a day or two, when i try to boot the laptop, windows boot manager throws an error message saying-"an unexpected I/O error has occured.windows has failed to communicate with your hard drives.". we even tried to install ubuntu, but after a day or two, it also crashes....

Why are you trying to install a different version than the one which shipped with the laptop? How is this being activated? Use the licensed version Win7 Home Premium x64 SP1 English Official ISO download provided in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to avoid problems and so it's $100+ license is not wasted.

The steps in the tutorial compile what works best in tens of thousands of installs we've directly helped with here, and have been followed by over a million viewers of the tutorial without a single complaint. You'll get and keep a perfect install to the exact extent you stick with those steps.

If deleting all partitions during the booted install isn't enough then work through these steps for Overcoming Windows 7 Installation Failures - Windows 7 Help Forums

I agree with greg. It is best to reinstall the operating system that came with the laptop; as installing any other o.s. could cause various other issues both short term and long term. It is also best to do a 100% clean reinstall following the instructions he posted a link to above.

could this problem be due to dynamic partition of Hard disk??

Yes. It's good you finally decided to tell us. Dynamic disks are only to span a partition across multiple HD's. You'll want to Convert a Dynamic Disk to a Basic Disk either using the non-destructive method to try to save what you have, or wiping the hard drive before reinstall.

If you have any less than a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 then I'd start over and this time wipe the disk first with Diskpart Clean Command.

You will get and keep a perfect install to the exact extent you stick with the steps in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

It would help guide you to see a screenshot of Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image
