I'm having a similar issue. I get the error: "0x80070057" at the point of "Completing installation". The files expand and features install, but when I get to the point mentioned, I get this error message. I know that Intel doesn't officiall support my chipset (875P) for Windows 7 or Vista, but I am running Vista with no problems on a clean install. The error message states that Windows could not configure the boot manager. The disk I'm using is an OEM disk. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 Ultimate CPU Intel P4 Prescott HT 3GHz Motherboard Abit IC7 Memory 4GB Corsair XMS PC3200 Graphics Card Nvida GeForce 7600GS Sound Card Onboard Monitor(s) Displays Dell 1907FP PSU Corsair 650TX Cooling Thermalright XP-120 Hard Drives WD Caviar Black 500GB (x2)

Hello, Chenzo.
Often times the computer manufacturers release their own custom drivers. Check the Dell site. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU Intel i7 2600K OC'd @ 4620 MHz Motherboard Asus P8Z68-V Pro Memory 16GB GSkill Sniper 2133 Mhz (4x4GB) Graphics Card EVGA GeForce GTX 480 SuperClocked+ Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays 2x Acer S273HLbmii 27" Screen Resolution 2 x 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech MK320 (wireless) Mouse Logitech MK320 (wireless) PSU Corsair HW Series 750w (modular) Case Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced Blue Edition Cooling CM Hyper 212+ CPU cooler, 3x 230mm + 1x 140mm case fans Hard Drives 64GB Crucial M4 SSD

First I would like to thank you for the responce. I have been looking there but since they have my computer saved as a x32 version those are the drivers that come up. How would I look for the driver that I am going to need for the x64 bit version of 7 that I just got? I have downloaded the drivers from the manufactured structure that the hardware was based off of. Do you think that that would work? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell XPS, Lenovo T61, Dell OS XP-x32, Vista, Trying to Install 7-x64, Ubuntu 9.x CPU Quad Core, Core 2 Duo, ? Do you think that that would work? I really do not know. Download Speccy and determine your hardware. Then Google for the drivers for that hardware. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Custom OS Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU Intel i7 2600K OC'd @ 4620 MHz Motherboard Asus P8Z68-V Pro Memory 16GB GSkill Sniper 2133 Mhz (4x4GB) Graphics Card EVGA GeForce GTX 480 SuperClocked+ Sound Card Realtek High Definition Audio Monitor(s) Displays 2x Acer S273HLbmii 27" Screen Resolution 2 x 1920x1080 Keyboard Logitech MK320 (wireless) Mouse Logitech MK320 (wireless) PSU Corsair HW Series 750w (modular) Case Cooler Master HAF 932 Advanced Blue Edition Cooling CM Hyper 212+ CPU cooler, 3x 230mm + 1x 140mm case fans Hard Drives 64GB Crucial M4 SSD

Hi, for the 'missing CD/DVD-drivers' problem we had to delete the Dell rescue partition on a Dell Optiplex 760. Apperently Windows 7 sees it as an optical drive. | My System Specs | | |
