Okay im very upset at myself again.

I foolishedly was downloading a file in a forum that is like a torrent. I then got a message that i dont believe is related to it say your computer most likely has adware/spyware and even mentions the IP that i currently use. It then says to be aware of your banking, credit card information and all those things. I usually see messages like this a while back but this time i didnt think much except the file i was downloading was going very slow.

Anyways during this time i had my 2.0 usb in my dell xps8100 and i then decided im going to scan for viruses with avast, malwarebytes, superantispyware. As usual it found lot of adware on superantispyware but nothing with malwarebytes.

However... i then went to scan my usb.... and instead of it showing just the E drive... it has F, G, H and I drive as well on avast. Should i be worried about this?

The thing is when i went to scan it on superantispyware... it shows removeable disk as the I DRIVE. Shouldn't it have E drive?

Very frustrated at myself as i told myself i wouldnt download any torrents anymore but its on a site that people say is pretty safe and now im upset at myself. The thing is i want to wipe my xps 8100 again but my issue is if my usb is infected... if i format it... dont i have to put this usb into my other laptop so i could download windows 7 iso file into it and put it into that usb?

It could have been a fake infection warning trying to trick you from a webpage into clicking on its scanner, at which time it would infect you for real.

If Malwarebytes, SAS and Free Antivirus Download - Panda Cloud Antivirus don't find an infection on any of your drives including flash stick and external, nothing has appeared unusual in your browser Add-On's or Extensions, then I wouldn't worry about it. I do think you should change from MSE to Panda for more aggressive protection.

You should have already saved a backup image so you never need to reinstall again.

Well i didnt click on that. All i saw was the message and my isp and i believe my isp address as well... though not 100 percent.

Malwarebytes didnt find anything. SAS found adware cookies but it always finds it. However... is there a reason my
2.0 usb which should show removable drive (E) changed to (I)? I don't know why when i go to malwarebytes and try to scan the usb only.. i see E, F, G, H and I drive....

The thing is this... doing a clean reinstall on the xps 8100 is going to be pretty easy for me because i see all the steps here that you helped me with last time and i didnt have any issues with the drivers etc unlike that with the asus laptop.

But the thing is i wouldn't want to infect the asus laptop as its clean at the moment. And right now i have the usb iso file on my 2.0 hard drive. So if the usb does indeed have a virus, wouldn't that be a bad idea then? Thus a clean reinstall of it on the xps 8100? Im thinking best thing to do would be download the iso file and the program with it and the dell xps 8100 driver onto the asus. Then i format my 2.0 usb that is currently in the current xps 8100 so its formatted and free of viruses. Then plug that into the asus laptop and put the iso file and the xps driver file from last time. Then plug it into the dell xps 8100 and do what i did last time?

Would you say that would be fine? Im very frustrated at myself because i told myself i wasn't going to download anything like that anymore and wanted to keep all computers of mine clean until earlier today.

And yes i feel very dumb for not doing the backup image u suggested b/c last time when you helped me with it... i figure im not going to do a reinstall of it anymore or in a very very long time b/c i was sure i wasnt going to download any files that might have viruses.

Scan the flash stick with the solutions I gave you from the XPS. I would install Panda Cloud on both PC's to prevent infection better, and if either continue to become infected then in addition buy Malwarebytes Real Time protection for $29 for life. You can reinstall MB as a trial for Real Time for 30 days to test it's effectiveness because it shouldn't take that long for something to go wrong.

Hi. I scanned it with mb and shows nothing. Superantispyware shows adware cookies but it always shows that.

The panda scanned my I drive and doesn't show anything.

However, shouldnt i be worried that my usb 2.0 normally is E drive and now suddenly changed to I drive? I never seen an (I) removable drive before. The same as i see F, G, H as well...

No, that would have nothing to do with Malware but is only random drive letter assignment by the app.
