    I can't active my w7 license key on a w7 with service pack 1

    Hello

I had to reinstall a windows 7 copy with the upgrade mode (to preserver all the stuff of the machine). All was good but in the process I did not active the copy with my license key. I used a windows 7 copy (with no SP1).

Then, withouy active the copy yet, I updated with the windows update and I installed the service pack 1 update.

Then, the problem is that now I cannot active the copy with my windows 7 license key, because now the operative system is a Windows 7 SP1.

What could i do? I need to unninstall SP1, active the copy and then, install again the SP1.

    Thank you very much.

    Please perform the following:

    1. Download and save this tool to your desktop:
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012

    2. Run the tool, and then click Copy - ignore any errors if they appear

    3. Use CTRL+V to paste the unedited results of the tool here in your next reply

What I must find in this analysis? The machine with the problem is not mine, is a machine of a customer.

Ok, I cannot do this until tomorrow. But I want to know if this is a common problem or not. I have rode in many sources that the key is only valid for one edition of Windows 7, in this case, for Windows 7 Professional 32 bits, but the thing is that I update to SP1 without active, and now I cannot activate the copy.

It can be common, it depends on the system. The only way to advise a solution is for us to examine the report.

Is your key for Windows 7 Professional ?

Is that what you installed ?

15 hours and no one has looked at this yet ?

The problem here looks to be simply that the system wasn't activated inside the grace period - and in that case it has to be activated by phone.

    telephone activation (operator calls)
    Click on the Start button
    in the Search box, type
    SLUI 4
    and hit the Enter key
follow the instructions, but when asked which service you require by the telephone ansafone, do NOT reply - this should force an operator to respond, who can deal with you
