Okay i found out the reason. I have the numbers lock key on... on my external keyboard. Once i turned it off, then there was no issue with it.

However there is something very strange here. Example even if i leave the number lock on and then take the keyboard out of my laptop... none of those buttons i mention work. And of course the BUTTON i when i click on it acts as a left click mousepad. Can someone explain why this is the case? Thus the only way to fix this issue is i have to turn off the number lock on my external keyboard, then pull keyboard out of my laptop. Then it would work.

Another thing that i dont get is this. When i have the number lock on or off when its connected to the monitor... the keypad with the numbers never work. I have to use the numbers on top of the letters. Is there a reason for this?

Also has anyone heard of this before? Also every time i turn on or turn off the number lock on the external keyboard while connected to sager laptop, theres a beep sound that shows on and off...

Okay so i found out that i had mouse keys turned on... and i had to turn it off to get my keypad on my external keyboard to work. First off, what is this as i never had anything like that with my asus laptop. What kind of option is this?

Also when i have the external keyboard work fully by putting NO for mousekeys... then the right side of my laptop keyboard such as letters O, P types the keybad numbers such as 5 and 6. Is this normal?

I never seen something like this other laptops.

Tbh i have never used an External Keyboard with my Laptop ... It sure does not seem like normal .. It would seem like some sort of conflict ... Maybe you should stick to using your Laptops Keyboard for awhile any how ...

Well the problem with this is majority of the time, the laptop will be connected to an external monitor. And thus it wouldnt feel right using the laptop keyboard as im only using the monitor screen and not the laptop screen. Does that make sense?

Basically i have the laptop connected to wired keyboard and a monitor, then i basically use my laptop like a desktop if that makes sense?

Yes it sure does make sense ... Took me quite awhile getting used to a laptop what with the small Keyboard and no Mouse and small Screen .. As i was always used to a Desktop etc ..

Well i always used a desktop and rarely used my laptop. So i was used to a keyboard and a big monitor. Then i had to use a laptop since i couldn't carry my desktop around. So then when i get another monitor, i would need to use a regular keyboard.

I mean... imagine i have laptop connected to monitor. And also i want only 1 screen. I know you could have 2 screen such as monitor and laptop but i only want 1 screen. So i would have laptop screen open... then type from the keyboard while keeping it open... and theres nothing on the laptop screen while looking at the monitor screen... thus the laptop screen would be blocking me if u know what i mean.

Yes it could be quite confusing ... It is just what you get used to also .. As i have several Desktops yet i seldom use them now .. Have got used to the Laptop touch -pad and all that comes with it .. As i travel quite a bit could not do with out the Laptop ...

Yea but the thing is when you are on your laptop, you are only using the laptop monitor screen right? The issue for me is the laptop monitor size which is 14.1... or even if i get a 15.4 laptop... that size is too small. I need a 20' screen and thus only way to do this is an external monitor.

Yes you are right the Screen size does matter .. I do have one Laptop that has a 17.3 inch Screen still can have problems with that like the Battery so not much good for travel ...

Yea usually the bigger size monitor, the poorer the battery. Also i wouldn't want a laptop that big. Even a 15.4 laptop i consider pretty big.
