    Format c: on xps 8500?

I regularly reimage my pc to get rid of viruses, etc. I thought it would be easy on my dell xps 8500 with and a ssd drive. No!
I killed the machine so it wont work anymore
I originally put in the windows 7 disk and set the pc to boot from the dvd drive then the hdd but it complains it needs drivers. I am in a state of confusion as to what to do? I know i have to provide step by step info but given this thing uses an ssd to speed up the windows 7 reboot maybe i got into no man's land with this idea of reimaging it?

Does anyone have any ideas as how to proceed at this point?
    Here is what i know:

You cant put in the original dell windows 7 dvd and boot from it. It complains it cant find any drives and needs drivers.

Calm down. Never seen a machine "killed" by this. The driver error means disk is bad. Start over and follow all steps in post 9. These resolve all issues. Create new install media.

Install disk. Make another exactly as shown in both tutorials.
