The key for your PC is on the COA sticker. On a laptop it is on the bottom or in the battery compartment, on a desktop it is in the rear.

You can call Microsoft, they will ask you for some numbers that are on the retail disc, they may give you a key, Good Luck

Well, it`s pretty darn foolish to loose the retail packaging, it should have all been kept together.

A retail Windows 7 is like Gold

You should protect the Product Key for Ultimate like any other valuable worth $200. Why didn't you?

If you had asked before you reinstalled we could have told you how to extract the key from the install using Belarc Advisor.

I would buy the cheapest version available since most consumers dont' need the few extra expensive features in Ultimate other than which its the same exact OS. Compare Windows 7 Editions - Windows 7 Forums
