    OME Version

Hi, I got a Windows 7 OME 32bit disc lying around, and I've go some trouble figuring out if I should try to get a 64 bit (forgot to mention it when I ordered it), or if I should keep it...

I was hoping that someone in here could be able to tell me if I'll be able to install 64 bit even though it says 32 bit...

Heres a list that shows why I'm quite confused about this:

The box says that it's 32 bit

The guy at the store ensured me that I would be able to choose 32 or 64 bit during the install.
My bro tells me that he heard, that theres some official download which allows you to turn 32 bit into 64bit.
He then told me that some dude on another forum, told him that It wasn't possible and that you couldn't get 64bit with 32bit CD.

Can anyone PLEASE tell me if I'll be able to install 64 bit with the CD or if I should try to get a 64bit CD instead?

    -Thanks :)

(Sorry for any headaches and or brain damage I might have caused with my stupidity. )

afaik you'll need a 64-bit disc. There is no way to convert a 32-bit only disc into 64-bit.

The disc you have if OEM does have both 32 and 64, trust me we use it at work everyday...

btw, if you boot from the media you can just as easily figure this out for yourself. If it really has both 32 and 64 bit then it would give you the option to choose.

But if it doesn't I wouldn't be able to get a refund or get it traded for a 64 bit one...

    I guess you're right though.. : P

It was my understanding that the retail version would include both 32 and 64 bit, but the OEM version was specific. I bought the OEM x64 version and when I did my install, I was NOT presented with any choice.... Did somebody say that the OEM version DID have both versions?
