Formatted Sony laptop, wiped windows 7 and cannot re-install

Guys; I am looking for some assistance in repairing my laptop

A couple of months back I wiped my laptop, using the option in F8 or F12? ; as the system was running slow and locking everytime I tried yo use it; but half way through the format the laptop shutdown and when I tried to restart it; the laptop goes through the 'Set up is preparing you computer for first use' but then get a message 'Windows could not complete this installation. To install Windows on this computer, restart the installation.

I have went into F2 on startup to change Boot priority to Internal Optical Disc Drive.

Inserted the Windows 7 disc and restarted but the disk drive just seems to be ticking over, the Vaio screen sticks until the disc is removed and then goes to 'Windows is configuring for first setup' this is where it stops

If I go into the Windows boot manager , I get the option to choose the operating system (Windows 7) or press tab to enter the Windows Memory Diagnostic

But get no option to boot from CD

    Any assistance would be appreciated

Work through the steps to Troubleshoot Windows 7 Installation Failures - Windows 7 Help Forums.

If the Sony will not boot the disk by holding the F12 key at boot to get a Boot Menu, or setting it first to boot in BIOS setup (normally F1 or F2) then try another disk. If that fails, try the flash stick installer - both provided in tutorial.
