Migrated Win 7 to SSD. Now has dual Win 7 boot option

A few months ago I used Paragon migrate OS to SSD 4.0 to clone my 480gb HDD (partitioned C: OS and D: data) to a 240gb ssd (just C: OS). This is a somewhat older Asus laptop with a i5 processor.

Everything worked fine except that windows boot manager has 2 versions of windows 7. Its not a big deal and I more or less ignored it. I should note that selecting either boot option loads Win7 with no problems. After a bit of time passed I started getting windows popups asking me to re-authenticate windows, which I did using the phone system. But it won't work. Windows appears to accept the key, but within an hour I get another popup saying that my version of windows needs to be authenticated. I'm assuming these two things are related (i.e. windows recognizes 2 copies of windows running the same product key).

I've tried searching the forum for answers with no luck and any help would be appreciated. I'm certainly no pro at this and I'm guessing I just don't know the correct terms to use in my searches...

I guess to fully state my questions:

How do I identify and remove the incorrect windows 7 option in the boot manager?

Could this be causing my re-authentication problem?

Please post back a screenshot of Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image.

Look in msconfig>Boot tab to see if there is an extra non-default listing to Delete. Windows Boot Manager - Delete a Listed Operating System - Windows 7 Help Forums

If not install EasyBCD (click Download - no Name or Email required) to check for a surplus listing without the correct drive letter on the Edit OS Menu tab.

I went ahead and deleted the non-default Windows 7 OS in the system config and rebooted. Windows booted without giving me the dual boot option, so problem one is solved. I did not get a windows authentication message on start up or in the next hour of use but I got one the following morning.

I tried running the windows authentication tool (legitcheck) again and that didn't work. So then I ran slui.exe. Instead of asking for my product key it just said activation was successful. When I check the system properties in control panel I have the genuine windows icon. So it looks like it worked. However, I have gotten that icon to appear before, only to get more authentication requests within a few hours. Hopefully, now that there are no longer two boot options that won't be the case this time.

The windows is not genuine requests came back again shortly after my last post....

This time I ran Slui 04 and used the phone system to authenticate (again). It was accepted and gave me the genuine windows logo (again).

That lasted about an hour.

I contacted microsoft CS and they had me do a bunch of things (virus/malware checks etc...) and none of those worked. Finally, they had me uninstall my most recent windows updates. That changed my windows status from non-genuine to not-authenticated (like a fresh install). I then re-authenticate windows with the phone system (yet again) and that really does seem like it did the trick. Its been about 24 hours now without a problem. So it looks like after all that trouble it was some glitch the whole time.
