Thanks so much for your help! Here's the screen shot...
You will probabaly find this easier:
Rt click W and Mark as Active.
In bios, make sure the 7 HD is first in HD boot order.
Boot the 7 dvd and run Startup repair 3 times.
Hope it helps
That helped a great deal. Windows 7 is the main boot drive and I was able to format my C: drive. Windows 7 still thinks Vista is on my C: drive, however, even though it's gone. Any way to tell Windows 7 that it's gone? I've tried re-running Startup Repair under the new configuration, but no dice...
Hi Bri,
Just remove the Vista entry from 7 boot menu.
Easiest is type msconfig in start search - click it when it pops up.
Under the Boot Tab - highlight Vista entry and Delete. Apply, OK.
The Next time you restart - you won't see Vista.
I just wanted to tell you how much I sincerely value your help. Your advice has been invaluable. Your time and efforts are very much appreciated.
Thank you!
It's a pleasure, Bri.
Thanks for posting back your results.
I am happy it all worked out for you.
Hi SIW2,
I would like to get the Windows 7 Splash Screen back.
Would appreciate your help. I had a dual boot on one drive: Vista on first partition; Windows 7 on second partition. I managed to mangle deleting Vista and doing an Acronis True Image restore of Windows 7 to the old Vista partition and then deleted W7 from the second partition., but I have the old Vista slashbar splash screen which then boots into W7.
How can I fix this? Thanks in advance.
Here's a screenshot of my drives:

LOL. Not so easy to follow what you did there, Bily.
From within 7 type cmd in start search box.
When the black box pops up, rt click it and run as admin.
Type:
bcdboot c:\windows /s c:
then press enter.
You should get a successful message. Close command prompt.

Fixed my Windows 7 splash screen by pasting this in command prompt: bcdboot %WinDir% /l en-US but NOW lost my F11 Acronis recovery manager ability. It was working until I did that.
How do I get THAT back??
I know, I know, I should never be allowed near a computer.
I guess open up Acronis - go to the options for startup recovery manager - uninstall the feature - then reinstall it.
I assume it works in a similar way to Paragon , which is what I use.
