Windows Seven Student Discount download problem

I got fed up of waiting for my disc to come, and the customer service from Microsoft has been far from satisfactory which mostly just consists of copy and pasting the same thing over and over through email. So today I clicked the link provided from my email to download the Windows Seven exe file. Everytime I go to download it I keep getting a 346 KB file. I thought it was supposed to be 2 gigs, anyone else had this problem?

I believe that's the download manager, you run that and then you get the iso file from which you can burn your upgrade DVD.

Ok, now that i checked the file it does say "digital river download" manager, I shoulda looked at that x_x But an ISO file? I was under the impression that it would be like an exe file or installation type extractor

There are several threads here on the issues that many had with the DR DL format... so many that I believe DR changed to an iso, or you can request one! Requesting ISO From Digital River

There are also instructions here on creating a DVD from the old DR DL format: Make bootable iso from student d/l

it gives you a huge pack which can be extracted to ISO format, but you'd have to google it find out how. It took them about a fortnight/three weeks to send my DVD, to save bandwidth I'd advise waiting for it, tbh.

There are lots of reports of students having problems though, so any issues you may come across will be fairly well documented with a fair few fixes by now I imagine.

Well thats my issue. I ordered in on Oct 24th, have yet to receive any type of confirmation email saying it was shipped. It's nearly two weeks now. Sent many emails asking when it shipped, or if I could have a confirmation saying it's been shipped. All I got was the same copy and pasted message about it taking 7-14 days and to contact them if it hadn't arrived after that time. After about the 5th email I got nasty with them and told them to read my email in caps lock and told them I was asking about SHIPPING and not arrival time. I then get an email saying it was shipped on Oct. 24th. Now I find two things wrong with that. One, it's the same day I ordered it, which sounds bogus to me, as I order many things online, and they NEVER ship on the same day. Two, it say's on their site things do not ship on Sat. or Sun. but the following monday. The 24th was a Sat. <_< So I don't know, tomorrow it'll be the end of the 7-14 days after it supposedly shipped according to them, so I may be sending them a few mroe "nice" emails.

Have you tried inputting your order # into their system to see if you can go ahead and DL?

Or maybe this is the best way since you are frothing at the mouth to load Win7 (I dont blame you!)... Why not DL the iso and activate it later... you have 30 days to do so, and surely you will have your DVD by then!

Just click this link: Microsoft Fixes Windows 7 Student Edition Upgrade Problems - Windows 7 student edition - Gizmodo and then click the iso File link in the article which will start the iso download!
