Next install CrystalDiskInfo - Software making sure to decline any freeware offers made during install. Save the results to file, attach back with paper clip in reply box.

You had said that the Toshiba drive category selection page wasn't taking you anywhere. Which choice were you making that most closely matches your hard drive? The exact HD model may be listed for the hard drive in BIOS setup, Disk Management, or look on the drive. Google model + hard drive DOS diagnostics to read how to diagnose.

I'd replace the drive.

The best upgrade you can have for Win7 is an SSD, lightning fast, faster than buying a new high-end PC without one. Prices are coming down daily.
