If you format your c drive do you loose your license key for windows 7 professional? I need to know because it is an msdn licence and I don't want to loose my license.

I am doing it as the laptop has become as slow as treacle it's taking 5 minutes to load Web pages. Script pop up keeps coming up with do you want to disable script etc. Really annoying.

I have the latest ie,Firefox, and chrome. It's the same with them all done a boot time scan with Avast found a couple of viruses and malware bytes found 1malware issue. But the computer is still very slow cpu is at 100% most of the time. So I think I need to wipe it.

But will I loose my license. Thank you in advance. Paul

If it's an MSDN license key then you can reinstall it as often as you want. If any problems arise use the activation phone option, or call MSDN subscriber support.

Follow these same steps to get and keep a perfect Clean Reinstall Windows 7

I have not been notified of your replies. I ended up buying a licence. Think I need a new computer. It's cpu is at 100% most of the time and I have no viruses or malware! Thank you for your replies. I have installed tapatalk so I will get your replies from now on.

In that case I would do the Clean Reinstall following the steps in the blue link closely so you know you have a perfect install.

It's Crap mate Firefox keeps crashing. ie11 is no better Google Chrome crashes. I don't know why the cpu is so high 100% just about the whole time my phone is very very fast compared to it!

Work through the Troubleshooting steps below patiently, starting with a Clean Boot, all infection scans including Superantispyware and disabling all Add-Ons in browser, SFC, Disk Check. Report back as you go.

We assume you followed the Reinstall steps closely as they pertain to drivers so you know it was a perfect install? If not I would do it over to be sure
