Invalid product key

I'm installing the student 64 HP upgrade version, on a clean install, I've inputted both the key that came with the download and my old XP 32 bit product key. None are working. Is there anything I can do? The correct department that deal with this aren't open until monday...

Thanks but I can't do any of that since this is a fresh install on a formatted hard drive, so I can't get into xp or Windows 7. Do I need to first reinstall xp to get this working?

Here is the workaround to clean install Windows 7 upgrade to a new HDD. This is the same workaround being given out by MS tech support.

The other way to do it is to install without key, then run an Upgrade install over the new install from the desktop. Same results: it takes key the second time and activates when it gets online.
