Windows 7 Ultimate not recognized
Hello !
I've just installed Windows 7 Ultimate x32 on my C: HDD. My D: HDD was completely free so I installed Win x64 7 Ultimate ... Well, everything went smooth ... But my problem is:
If I am in Win 7 x32, the x32 installation is displayed on disk C:... and the x64 installation is displayed on disk D:
If I am in Win 7 x64, the x64 installation is also displayed on disk C: ... and the x32 installation is displayed on disk D:
So there is no unique HDD.. ID?!
Now I tried to rename my C: HHD driveletter to D: , so the letternames would no longer bother me ... But it didn't work ...
So I went to Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Computer Management / Storage / Disk Management, nad clicked right on "Other actions / view / drive paths... but neither of the two installations is recognized ...
Well, the story goes on ... I inserted my WIN 7 installtion DVD and went to the repair options ( you know this black console /fixmbr...), and tried to repair the MBR... But what I saw was that the x32 version is installed on my D: HDD, while the x64 installation is apparently installed on a E: HDD ... Somthing's wrong here ?!?
Now my question is: Could you tell me why my windows is not working properly? I would like my computer to recognize the installation and get proper letternames for my installations... I hope you can help me and thank you in advance
