    hi,

    i have a 200 gb on my c: drive ... i had installed Win 7 prof 64-bit on it ... bt for last 2 days it was giving me "not responding" error on any program i clicked or working for sometime & resumed after 1-2 min ... did sfc & scandisk bt no effect ... so i did a backup of my required data & performed a format-install using Windows 7 dvd ... format went well ... bt its showing error & not installing Win 7 ... error shown was of corrupt install files bt same worked on my frds hdd drive ... what should i do to install it on my pc ???

    You can try making a copy of your disk, it could have scratches that can cause the corrupt files, even though it may work fine somewhere else.

    Another option would be to extract the files to create an iso image and re burn that, but it could also wind up being corrupted too.

    But they are your choices.

    @AddRAM ... thanx 4 ur reply ...

    bt the problem is not with dvd as it worked on my frds hdd ... my fault abt mentioning dvd ...

    bt the problem i think is with hdd ... scandisk on 200 gb partition takes a lotta time (4 hrs) ... just need to install Win 7 ... so have copied setup files on drive & do it ...

    will chkdsk /r mark bad sectors & never store files there ???
