Starter (32 bit) to Home 64 bit, somehow?

I've read you can't upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit directly, but not being sure of how the process works, do I get a new CD key when upgrading, that you can then use when reinstalling? So in other words, is it possible to install W7 Starter, upgrade to Home Premium (for a discount I would assume), get a new key, then reinstall Windows with that key, or how does that work?

Because I have a Starter key that isn't being used, and I have a laptop that I wanna install Windows on (with more RAM than 32 bit would give me access to), so I wonder if I can somehow get 64 bit W7 based on that Starter key. If of course Starter wasn't 32 bit only, this would've been a lot easier.

No discount if you upgrade from Starter to Home Premium, sorry, so no gain in installing Starter first.

You need to buy a Home Premium key or package. Once you have it, it should be good for 32 or 64 bit.
