    My labtop won't accept windows 7 x64 bit only 32 bit !

    Hi ,

    My specs: CPU I3 ( x64 based processor )

    RAM 4GB

    hard drive : 500

i was running windows 8.1 professional x64 bit and i decided to downgrade to windows 7

so i installed windows 7 ultimate x32 bit but found that it only shows 2.86 RAM so,

i tried to install the windows 7 ultimate x64 and it just stop in the middle of installation !

i tried several editions of windows x64 bit but they all fails

im using bootable DVD to install , and i want to install the x64 version or any other way to upgrade from 32 to 64 without new installation .

You must boot the DVD and do a Clean Install, formatting before installing. You can't install from a booted 32 bit Windows system.

Is this a WIndows 8 PC and if so did you disable Secure Boot in BIOS Setup, boot the DVD as a UEFI Device?

Did Win8 Pro come with the PC with option to downgrade to Windows 7 Pro? If so why are install Ultimate?

Where did you get Ultimate and how is the DVD burned? It sounds like a problem with the disk.

How exactly do you plan to activate Win7?

Where did you get the ISO? Confirm it is intact from Step 1 of Clean Reinstall Windows 7.

Any modern processor is 64 bit.

Answer my questions in last post!

How are you "flashing" the ISO to USB?
